The New Pornographers - Adventures in Soltitude

I like how this song transits from a slower tempo to a faster one, and the lyrics especially. It is beautiful in very simple ways, but to appreciate it, it is necessary to listen to the full track.

"What we can’t do is live our lives always afraid of our next goodbye, because chances are they aren’t going to stop. The trick is to recognize when a goodbye can be a good thing, when it’s a chance to start again."

When I first heard this song, it felt like one I’ve heard since I was a child. Deja vu, perhaps? I put this song on repeat since last night.

Cry Me Out, by Pixie Lott

My Year, Forward

My first post in 2010! I think I’d accidentally fill in 2009 for the first one month coming. So here is the part where the resolutions drop in.

To be truthful, I have nothing much to resolve. I prefer to go with the flow these days. But with a plan in mind, and an image of how the plan can be achieved can make 2010 a prosperous one. So here I go!

Tsk, before that, I should wish for certain things. Idealistic goals aren’t exactly resolutions. They are 10% effort, 90% luck.

WISHES:
1. A’LEVEL RESULTS TO NOT BE DISAPPOINTING!

2. My little sister to wake up her idea. Going 11 and still a kid, grr. Adorable on one hand, worrying on the other.

3. Get into police force for NS.

4. Get into NS after April.

5. Don’t die in NS.

RESOLUTIONS:
1. Keep in touch like seriously, with the usual peeps.

2. Alcohol-control. Not that I’m out of hand, but I shall make it a point to control.

3. Get fit before going into NS!

4. Get rid the habit of ‘eating for fun’.

5. Repair the bridge I’ve broke in late 2009 (this is metaphorical, asses).

6. Figure out how I want to lead my life.

My Year, Rewind #01

2009 is rather adventurous for me, even after taking that dreadful A levels into consideration. As a matter of fact, I’d rather say that December came straight after October.

Most of the people I’ve met this year or hang out with, is from my own college (yea, I blame college for shrinking my social circle!). Some of them I got to know better, some of them I just came to knew:

Jieheng: My only OG-mate that survived (?), haha. Really grateful that we still hangout. Started college with him during orientation, ended college with him disorientated. And oh no, this doesn’t sound gay at all.

Shenn: We weren’t that close last year when we were classmates as compared to this year! Ironic huh. This year, hanging out with her is, as I quote from her, AWESOME.

Jiaxin: You’re like a new river I discovered this year, yet I’m powerless to help myself from polluting it ;) Whenever I wanna try out new lame jokes or ‘theories’, I turn to you. I don’t think there’s another person who I know, which can stand me to this extent! Thanks for all that, muhahahaha.

Bryant/Jack: The gay brothers! JK. I have no idea how, but you’re like our age when we hang out, as if there was no age gap at all. However, do enjoy school next year ;)

Yilin: Tsk, I have no idea why you are here. I spend much of my time online, and while many of the others kept me occupied when I’m offline, you keep me occupied online with the most lame things I can ever come across. It gets me laughing yo ;)

Obviously there are much more people, but I don’t wanna keep on writing and these people on the list can obviously smirk to themselves for being, uhm, ‘special’. Bleah.

I know listing people is inadvertently cruel, but these peeps are really special :)
